ARTICLE 19 – HEALTH AND WELFARE BENEFITS COMMITTEE

19.1          The Association and District agree to a Joint Committee formed upon ratification for the purpose of researching and restructuring Article 4.2 after no later than October 1, of the current year.  The Association and District will have equal status on the committee (the Association will have no less than 4 members, all of which will be chosen by VVTA).  Any vote will affect only the unit voting.
 

19.2          The Committee will meet no later than October 1st of the current year.  The goal of the committee is to provide comparable or better benefits to the Association's members at the member's choice and to reduce costs.  The Committee will meet with a minimum of three (3) brokers/trusts to review their proposals.  Following the review of the proposals, committee members will have a minimum of two weeks to consult with their constituents.  A final meeting will be held prior to December 1st to vote. The Association will notify the district by December 1 of their selection.
